A Dialogic Model for Assessment and Instruction
|
• The dialogic approach conceives of instruction as an ongoing dialog among educators and students. As illustrated in the Socratic dialog, assessment to guide learning is an integral part of the dialogic instructional process.
• The integration of assessment and instruction is critical to the implementation of instructional efficiency and instructional effectiveness initiative and the implementation of common core curricula because the knowledge and skills to be acquired through the common core are intimately linked to new forms of technology-enhanced assessment.
• Thus, an important component of common core assessment to promote learning involves the development of test-taking skills required to respond effectively to assessments designed to measure mastery of the CCSS.
